About Edgar Hansen
The Discovery Channel introduced their new show The Deadliest Catch in 2005 and subsequently introduced us to the successful crab-catching Hansen family. Edgar Hansen is the youngest brother in the family but has quickly made a name for himself on the deck. Beginning his fishing career at 18, his older brother Sig took him aboard his ship, Northwestern, and has quickly made his way up the ranks to deck boss. Edgar joined the crew and took over the chef duties where he quickly improved the crew and his brother, being known for whipping up gourmet meals in limited time and under the harsh conditions of the sea. Recently, Edgar has been named as chief engineer of the ship and is in charge of making sure the engines, fuel system, and water pumps are all running smoothly while the ships are out at sea. Edgar is quickly improving and it wont be long before he leaves his brother to look for his own ship to captain.
