About Elaine Youngs
Elaine Youngs played volleyball for the UCLA Bruins where she was a 4x All-American and helped lead the Lady Bruins to four straight Final Four appearances. Young also played for the Bruins basketball team for two seasons. Young's first trip to the Olympics was as a part of the 1996 US Women's indoor volleyball team that finished 7th. In 1997 Youngs switched to the beach full time and began her professional career as a beach volleyball player. After missing a bid to the 2000 Olympics, Youngs rebounded by pairing with Holly McPeak to win the Bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Youngs switched partners for the 2008 Olympics and ended up with a 5th place finish. In 2011 she paired with Rachel Scott and has 39 career domestic wins to her name.
