About Misty May Treanor
Although she has now retired from playing the game of volleyball competitively, Misty May Treanor has left a legacy as being one of the best athletes to ever play the game. She began to play in high school where she led her team to two state championships in indoor volleyball, and was named by USA Today as the best girls volleyball player in the country in 1994. Misty May then continued to compete in college where she was the captain of the Long Beach State 49ers, and led the team to an undefeated record. She then began to compete in international events including the World Championships where she has won a silver medal, and three gold medals since 2003. Treanor has gained most of her notoriety from her competing in four consecutive Olympic Games where she has won the gold medal in beach volleyball the last three Olympics. Following a gold medal victory at the 2012 games, Misty May retired from playing and has since gone back to school and earned a Graduate Degree from Concordia University.
