About Eric Johnson
Eric Johnson was a wide receiver from Yale University and brought in national attention after his performance in the 1999 Yale-Harvard game. During the game, Johnson has 21 receptions for 244 yards, helping the team cap off a come from behind victory with a game winning touchdown. Johnson was selected to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2001 NFL Draft to begin his 6 year NFL career. Although he was kept out for most of his career due to injuries, Johnson found success in 2004 as the 49ers leading target, hauling in 82 receptions for 825 yards. After the 49ers drafted Vernon Davis in 2006, Johnson was dropped by the team and picked up for a season by the New Orleans Saints. Johnson retired from the game in 2008 and in 2014 married famous pop singer Jessica Simpson.
