About Eric Karros
Following a college career with the UCLA Bruins, Eric Karros was drafted in the sixth round of the 1988 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. After three seasons in the minors, Karros made a brief appearance in the majors, recording one hit in 14 plate appearances, a two-RBI double in 1991. The following season, Karros earned a starting spot for the Dodgers, beginning the season with a bang by hitting a two-run homer in his first at bat of the 92 season. Karros went on to hit 20 homeruns and drive in 88 runs that year on his way to National League Rookie of the Year honors. Karros went on to play 11 seasons for the Dodgers, tying the franchise record for most seasons with at least 30 HRs and 100 RBIs with 5 and is 3rd in team history in career HRs with 270. After two more seasons with the Chicago Cubs and the Oakland Athletics, Karros retired from the game and began a career as a color commentator for Fox.
