About Fedor Emelianenko
Fedor Emelianenko is probably the most well known mixed martial arts fighter to never compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He reigned as the heavyweight champion in Pride from 2003-2007. During this time, Emelianenko compiled a 28 fight win streak. He toppled four former UFC champions and 11 top ten ranked fighters. Emelianenko boasts wins over fighters like Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira,Mirko Cro Cop, and Andrei Arlovski during that span. Following the lengthy win streak, he lost three consecutive bouts in Strikeforce. Emelianenko bounced back however to win his next three fights. Many publications consider him to be the greatest heavyweight in MMA history and several of his peers have said he is the greatest fighter of all-time. Emelianenko is one of the beloved figures in Russian sports. Prior to his fighting comeback in 2015, he servedas a member of Russia's Presidential Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Emelianenko was also President of the Russia MMA Union and a Belgorod Regional Duma deputy.
