About Freddie Ljunberg
Freddie Ljungberg is a former professional soccer player and coach, best known as a dynamic winger during Arsenal's "Invincibles" era. His career began at Halmstad BK, and he earned fame after starring against England in the Euro 2000 qualifiers. Signed by Arsenal in 1998 for £3 million, he became a key figure in Arsène Wenger's side, scoring 72 goals in 328 appearances, including in the 2002 and 2005 FA Cup finals. He won two Premier League titles (2002, 2004), three FA Cups, and captained the Swedish National Team. Later stints included West Ham, Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire, Celtic, Shimizu S-Pulse, and Mumbai City before retiring in 2015. Post-retirement, Ljungberg coached Arsenal U23s (2018) and joined the first-team staff (2019). He left Arsenal in 2020 to pursue a career in management, but has not taken on a senior role since. In 2025, he jointly managed N5 FC in Baller League. He currently works as a Puma ambassador, Grassroot Soccer global ambassador, and revered Swedish TV pundit.
