About Garrett Gilkey
Garrett Gilkey was a professional offensive guard in the NFL. Gilkey attended Sandwich Community High School, but had to transfer because of bullying. While playing football in high school, Gilkey suffered from a rapid heartbeat and was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. Gilkey attended Chadron State College where he played in 37 games and started 34 of them. Gilkey earned first team All-American honors and he was won of three Division II players that wee invited to the 2012 Senior Bowl. The Cleveland Browns selected Gilkey in the seventh round as the 227th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. He agreed to a fouryear deal with the Browns on May 24, 2013. The Browns placed Gilkey on waivers and on September 1, 2014, he was claimed off of the waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
