About George Grande
George Grande is a sportscaster who currently serves as a part-time broadcaster for the Cincinnati Reds of MLB. Grande attended the University of Southern California where he played baseball for four years and he was on the Trojan’s team that won the 1968 College World Series. Grande’s broadcasting career began while he was at USC in 1967. He served as the sports director and news director of the university’s radio station; KUSC-FM. Grande also had a couple of stints with different radio stations before he completed his radio broadcast career by handling the Boston Red Sox pre- and post-game shows. He then served as a sportscaster on the TV station WTNH. Grande and Leonard Lee were the first two people to be seen on ESPN after its launch. Grande was the first host of “ESPN Sports Center.” After his ESPN career, Grande served as a play-by-play announcer for the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals. He joined the Cincinnati Reds TV broadcast team in 1993.
