About Georges Laraque
Georges Laraque had a distinguished 13-year NHL career, mostly with the Edmonton Oilers. Laraque was known primarily as an enforcer, which is how he developed the nickname, "The Rock." It is also what inspired his bestselling biography, "The NHL's Unlikeliest Tough Guy." Laraque has a unique story of being born in Montreal to Haitian immigrants. Both during and after his career, he has been involved in a number of humanitarian causes. Laraque has helped with many charities back in Haiti, is an animal rights activist, vegan and dedicated to environmental causes. He also uses his platform as a public speaker to address bullying and racism.
