About Greg Luzinski
Greg Luzinski was one of the most feared hitters in baseball through the 1970s and into the 1980s. He earned the nickname "The Bull" for his impressive power hitting skills. Luzinski was named a National League All-Star four straight seasons from 1975-78. His best season came with the Phils in 1975, when he had career highs across the board with a .309 batting average, 39 home runs and 130 RBI. That year, he led the NL in RBI and finished second in league MVP voting. Luzinski was a key postseason performer in his final season in Philadelphia and helped the team win the 1980 World Series. He had two game-winning hits during the National League Champioship Series. Luzinski went on to have four productive seasons with the Chicago White Sox before retiring after the 1984 season. He was always active in the community during his career as well and was recipient of the 1978 Roberto Clemente Award. Luzinksi is a member of the Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Fame and the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame.
