Harry Howell

Harry Howell retired professional hockey player who was famous first time with the New York Rangers. Prior to his time in the NHL, Howell played in various professional leagues including OHA and the AHL. Howell broke into the NHL in 1952 with the New York Rangers, and played 17 years with the team. Howell was a fantastic defender, and he won the Norris Trophy in 1967, becoming the last player to do so before the league expanded. Over his 22 seasons in the NHL, Howell would be a seven time All-Star, and becoming one of the longest tenured defenseman in NHL history. His 1160 games as a Ranger is a team record, and his number has since been retired by the team in his honor. Following his playing career, Howell became a coach, headlined by his time with the Minnesota North Stars for 11 games before resigning. Howell was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and has one Stanley Cup victory, coming in 1990 as a scout with the Edmonton Oilers.
