Hector Camacho Jr.

Hector Camacho Jr. grew up in his native Puerto Rico admiring his father’s fighting skills. As a kid he watched in awe as his father captured three world championships, and dreamed one day of following in his footsteps. In 2009 he did just that, capturing his first Light Middleweight title in the World Boxing Council Caribbean Boxing Federation. A southpaw fighter, Camacho Jr. has posted a career 57-6-1 record with 29 career knockouts. Nicknamed “Machito”, turned pro in the mid 1990’s and went on a tear until losing for the first time in 2002. As one of the toughest boxers in the ring today, Camacho Jr. continues to fight his way up the latter and hopes for another title shot in the near future. Recently he’s become an author, releasing his new children’s book “Macho Dad,” in October 2014. The book shares some of Camacho’s Jr.’s greatest memories of his father’s boxing career and also serves to help kids learn how to cope with the loss of a loved one.
