About Helio Castroneves
Helio Castronevas is a professional racecar driver who currently competed in the North American Indycar Series. Castronevas began racing in his native Brazil as a young child, competing in various karting tournaments, and eventually was discovered by Penske racing in 2000 to compete in the CART series. In 2001, Castronevas established his role as a perennial frontrunner when he won the Indianapolis 500, an event he would win two more times to this date. Castronevas and Penske Racing transferred over to the Indy Racing League in 2002 and remained with the team until 2008, then returning in 2009 and remaining with the team to the current day. Castronevas has 29 wins and an Indycar series record for most top 10 finishes and most pole victories. Castronevas has finished in the top five of the season championship standings on multiple occasions, but has never won the title, and he looks to change that as he continues on with his career.
