About Henderson Alvarez
Henderson Alvarez is one of the best young pitchers in baseball. Alvarez was an All-Star for the Miami Marlins in 2014 and finished the season 12-7 with a 2.65 ERA. A year earlier, he foreshadowed the success to come by throwing a no-hitter against the Detroit Tigers in the final game of the season. Alvarez originally came to the Marlins via a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2012. He pitched his first two seasons for the Blue Jays, becoming their youngest pitcher to get a victory since 1979. Toronto signed Alvarez out of Venezuela and he quickly became a highly regarded prospect. He made two consecutive appearances in the All-Star Futures Game while in the minor leagues.
