About Henry Cejudo
Henry Cejudo is a former Olympic wrestler who represented the United States in various international tournaments. Cejudo began wrestling in high school, where he was a four time state champion. He also won the ASICS National High School Wrestler of the Year award in 2006, earning him recognition from USA Wrestling and an invitation to train at the Olympic Training Center. Cejudo never attended college, instead focusing his entire life to training for the Olympics. Early in his career, Cejudo experienced great success, winning multiple US National titles as well as gold medals at the Pan American Games. In 2008, Cedjudo made his Olympic debut at the Beijing Games, winning the gold medal for the United States over Japanese wrestler Tomohiro Matsunaga. Following his gold medal victory, Cejudo began training for the 2012 Olympics, but failed to qualify for the United States team, ultimately retiring that same year. Cejudo is now a mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC and is one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world.
