Hiroki Kuroda

Huroki Kuroda spent much of his baseball career in Japan, but had several successful seasons pitching in Major League Baseball. In his seven seasons, Kuroda never posted an ERA above 4.00. He had his best season with the New York Yankees in 2012, going 16-11 with a 3.32 ERA. Kuroda won at least 11 games in a season five times. He originally left Japan to sign a three-year, $35.3 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2007. Kuroda pitched the first 11 years of his career with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the Nippon Professional Baseball League. He is back pitching with the Carp again trying to revive past success in Japan. Kuroda led the league in wins in 2005 and ERA in 2006. In 2005, he also won the Best Nine Award and a Gold Glove. In addition to his league success, Kuroda has competed for Japan on the international level. He won a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and pitched in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
