About Hunter Dickinson

The New Orleans Pelicans organization employs American professional basketball center Hunter Dickinson. The 7'2" and 265-pound Dickinson proved himself as a high school standout at DeMatha Catholic by earning Maryland's 2019–20 Gatorade Player of the Year title while scoring 18.1 points with 10.3 rebounds and blocking 2.1 shots per game alongside his 3.74 GPA.

During his college years at Michigan from 2020–23 he received both Big Ten Freshman of the Year and First‑Team All‑Big Ten honors twice. During his three-year college career at Michigan Dickinson maintained his position as the team's top scorer and rebounder by averaging 17–18 points with 8–9 rebounds per game and achieving 31 double‑double totals.

Dickinson gained widespread attention in the NCAA transfer market after he decided to play at Kansas University during the 2023 season. During his two years at Kansas he maintained his dominance through scoring 17.9 points and grabbing 10.9 rebounds per game in 2023–24 while earning Consensus All‑America Second Team recognition and Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and First‑Team All‑Big12 honors in addition to being selected for the NABC Player of the Year preseason watch list. During his 2024–25 season Dickinson delivered a dominant performance by scoring 27 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in the 99–48 victory against UCF. His exceptional passing abilities have earned him a unique position among seven-footers because Bill Self commented on his ball-handling skills which impressed him.

After receiving a flagrant foul ejection during his game against Duke Dickinson continued his competitive spirit by displaying both his physicality and mental toughness. He took charge of the team through both verbal leadership and his rivalry game ski mask tradition.

Following his 2025 draft non-selection Dickinson joined the New Orleans Pelicans organization through a two-way deal which includes playing for both their main team and their G League affiliate Birmingham Squadron. The professional player brings extensive college experience to the pros with more than 150 games and three All-America honors and average double-doubles and elite defensive and passing skills.

Hunter Dickinson demonstrates leadership while expressing himself openly to the public through his podcast Roundball and his work at basketball clinics.

The NBA draft prospect Hunter Dickinson brings professional-ready skills combined with strong leadership abilities and natural athletic ability that established him as one of college basketball's most fierce and skilled center players.
