Hunter Pence

Hunter Pence is a former MLB outfielder who is a three-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion. A relatively unknown high school prospect, Pence attended Texarkana College in 2002, eventually transferring to the University of Texas at Arlington to play his final seasons. In the 2004 MLB Draft, the Houston Astros selected Pence in the second round, and he chose to forgo his final year of college to sign with the team. After three spectacular minor league seasons, Pence made his MLB debut in 2007 and was regarded as one of the top prospects in the MLB at the time. Pence would go on to become a hitting machine with the Astros, winning the Darryl Kile Award and earning an All-Star nomination in 2009. In July 2011, the Astros traded Pence to the Philadelphia Phillies, where he played one full season before being traded again in July 2012 to the San Francisco Giants. Pence would become a key factor in the Giants 2012 World Series run, and he would help the team win their third World Series title in five years in 2014, slugging .444 with 5 RBIs in a seven-game victory over the Kansas City Royals.
