About Ickey Woods
Ickey Woods is a former professional fullback for the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL. Woods received a football scholarship from UNLV where he was a four-year letter winner. In his senior year at UNLV, Woods led the nation with 1,658 rushing yards. His total is the second-most in UNLV history and he holds the record for single-game rushing attempts. Woods was inducted into the UNLV Athletic Hall of Fame. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Woods in the 2nd round as the 31st overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, Woods was a breakout star as he rushed for 1,066 yards and 15 touchdowns. In 1988, Woods and the Bengals were AFC Champions and made it to Super Bowl XXIII, but fell to the San Francisco 49ers. Woods spent his entire playing career with the Bengals. In 2014, Woods was featured in a GEICO Insurance commercial where he performed his famous “Ickey Shuffle” while buying cold cuts in a deli.
