About Jason Kreis
Jason Kreis is currently the head coach of NYCFC and is one of the greatest players in MLS history. Kreis originally retired from the game in 2007 and immediately became the head coach of Real Salt Lake. He led the club to the playoffs every season and won the 2009 MLS Cup. Kreis became the youngest coach in league history to guide his squad to a championship. He spent his playing career in Salt Lake and with the Dallas Burn. Kreis played in the inaugural MLS season and scored the first goal in Burn history. He was named MLS MVP in 1999, becoming the first American-born player to win the award. His 108 goals rank third all-time in league history. Kreis was also scored the first goal in Real Salt Lake history and was their first player he was traded to the club in 2004. His jersey is retired by the franchise. Kreis began his professional soccer career in various lower-tier American leagues and played collegiately at Duke.
