Jed Hoyer is involved with one of the most well-run operations in sports as the President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs. Hoyer originally joined the Cubs in 2011 as general manager and got to see them through a process that resulted in the club winning their first World Series in 108 years in 2016. Hoyer took over heading Chicago's baseball operations efforts from Theo Epstein in 2020. Prior to taking the role in Chicago, Hoyer was the general manager with the San Diego Padres for two years. Just like when with the Cubs, he was part of a team that also turned around the Boston Red Sox. Hoyer started with the franchise in 2002 and was named assistant general manager following the team's first World Series victory in 86 years.
