Jed York

John Edward York, more commonly known as Jed York, is an American sports executive who followed his family’s footsteps. Born to the CEO of the San Francisco 49ers in Youngstown Ohio, it was no surprise that York took an interest in the sports management world. As a standout baseball player and team captain in high school in his hometown of Youngstown, York was also the senior class president of his class. He went on to attend the University of Notre Dame, where he studied for four years and majored in Finance and History. York initially became a financial analyst at a New York City firm right out of college, but immediately realized the career path was not for him. His parents took Jed into their family owned team and encouraged him to pursue the Strategic Planning position. Since, Jed has taken the position extremely seriously. Managing the 49ers has become more than just an occupation for him; it has become a way of life, an unbreakable connection to his family, and a sense of purpose in life that he had not previously experienced before jumping on board with Team San Francisco.
