About Jeff Montgomery
Jeff Montgomery had an oustanding big league career and spent 12 of his 13 seasons with the Kansas City Royals. Montgomery originally came up to the majors with the Cincinnati Reds in 1987. He was thren traded to Kansas City and blossomed into one of the top closers in the game. Montgomery was a three-time American League All-Star. In 1993, he tied a franchise record with 45 saves and led the AL. He was named AL Rolaids Relief Man. Montgomery retired from baseball in 1999 and was inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2003. He has worked in broadcasting following his playing career, including as an analyst for Fox Sports Kansas City.
