About Joe Morris
Joe Morris joined the New York Giants as a second round pick in 1982 after an All-American career at Syracuse University. After being selected with the 45th overall pick in the 1982 NFL Draft he signed his first pro contract and scored a touchdown on his first rushing attempt. He’d go on to rush for 5,585 yards and 50 touchdowns during his career, with a career high 1,336 yards and 21 touchdowns in 1986 in route to helping the Giants to a Super Bowl Championship. Over the next two years he posted two more 1,000 yards rushing seasons and became the Giants all-time leading rusher. Morris played six seasons in New York and went on to retire as a member of the Cleveland Browns in 1991. After his retirement he became a part owner of the New Jersey Red Dogs in the Arena Football League and now works in real estate and insurance.
