Joey Chestnut

Joey Chestnut is the top ranked competitive eater in the world. He got his start as a competitive eater while attending San Jose State University, and put his name on the map by winning the fried asparagus eating championship in 2005. That same year he placed third in the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. He’d go on to finish as the runner-up the following year and then capture the Wing Bowl XV championship in 2007 by downing 182 chicken wings in 30 minutes. That same year he won the 92nd Annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and has since won the last six competitions. His many records include downing 12.8 pounds of deep friend asparagus in 10 minutes, 13.76 pounds of pork rib meat in 12 minutes, 4.5 pounds of steak in 8 minutes, 69 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes and 70 bratwursts in 10 minutes. Chestnut took over the No. 1 spot on the International Federation of Competitive Eating rankings in 2008 and has not relinquished it since.
