About John Anderson
John Anderson was one of the most recognizable faces behind the anchor desk of ESPN's "SportsCenter" for 25 years. Anderson became a four-time Emmy winner during his lengthy tenure at the Worldwide Leader.
Anderson originally joined ESPN in 1999 as an anchor for ESPNews. He also crossed over to ABC on occasion, serving as the co-host of the obstacle course competition series, "Wipeout."
Before joining ESPN, he worked as a weekend sports anchor in Phoenix, Arizona from 1996-1999. Anderson had roles at stations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Columbia, Missouri as well.
Anderson is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He is currently the Leonard H. Goldenson Endowed Chair in Radio and Television Journalism at the university.
