John Spytek

John Spytek is the newly minted Las Vegas Raiders’ general manager, a keen football talent evaluator, and architect of the Super Bowl LV-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster. A former outside linebacker at the University of Michigan, he played alongside Tom Brady, recording 37 tackles, earning a bachelor’s in general studies and a master’s in sports management in Ann Arbor. His NFL career began as a Detroit Lions intern (2004), followed by scouting roles with the Philadelphia Eagles (2005–2009), Cleveland Browns (2010–2012), and Denver Broncos (2013–2015), contributing to a Super Bowl 50 win. Joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016, he rose to assistant GM by 2023, aiding in Super Bowl LV victory and drafting stars like four-time Pro Bowler Tristan Wirfs. He took over as the General Manager in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2025. Spytek and his wife, Kristen, co-founded the National CMV Foundation after losing their daughter, Evelyn, to congenital cytomegalovirus.
