About John Starks
John Starks’ played 12 seasons in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz from 1988 to 2002. He joined the Warriors as an amateur free agent out of Oklahoma State University. Prior to starring for he Cowboys he played at Tulsa Junior College, Northern Oklahoma Community College and Rogers State Community. During his NBA career he was one of the top guards in the league, earning NBA All-Defensive Second Team honors in 1993 and NBA All-Star honors in 1994. In 1997 he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year while playing for the Knicks. Over the course of his career he averaged 12.5 points and 3.6 assists per game, with his best year coming in 1993-94 with the Knicks in which he averaged 19 points and 5.6 assists per game. Starks was known for his outside shooting ability, and became the first player in NBA history to make 200 three pointes in a season. He remains the Knicks all-time leader in three point field goals.
