About John Taylor
John Taylor was a vital cog in the greatest stretch in San Francisco 49ers franchise history. He spent his entire career with the Niners as a wide receiver and return man from 1987-95. During this time, San Francisco won three Super Bowl titles and Taylor was a two-time Pro Bowler.
Many people remember Taylor for catching the game-winning pass from Joe Montana at Super Bowl XXIII in 1989. After that game, his career took off even more and he was named a Second-Team All-Pro the following season.
Taylor was the reliable number two option throughout his career alongside Jerry Rice, catching passes from Montana and later Steve Young. Overall, he caught 347 passes for 5,598 receiving yards, and 43 receiving touchdowns.
