About Jon Jansen
Jon Jansen played 10 seasons in the NFL with the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions after joining the Redskins in 1999 as a second round selection out of the University of Michigan. Prior to his days an Ann Arbor he was a three-sport star at Clawson High School in Clawson, Michigan, playing football, basketball and baseball. At Michigan he set a school record with 50 consecutive starts at right tackle, which earned him the nickname “Rock”. During his senior season he earned First-Team All-American honors in route to helping the Wolverines to an NCAA National Championship. Jansen played the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the Redskins and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2005. In 2009 he signed a oneyear deal with the Detroit Lions and retired the following year. Upon retiring from the NFL he became an analyst on the NFL Network and currently serves as a broadcaster for the Detroit Lions and Big Ten Network.
