About Jon Ritchie
Jon Ritchie played six seasons in the NFL from 1998 to 2004 with the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles after a standout collegiate career at Stanford University. After leading Cumberland Valley High School to a state championship in 1992 he signed a football scholarship to play at the University of Michigan and played two seasons with the Wolverines. In 1995 he transferred to Stanford University and switched to fullback from his normal linebacker position and flourished. In 1998 he was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders and played the first five seasons of his NFL career in Oakland. In 2002 he helped lead the Raiders to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXVII before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. After suffering a knee injury in 2004 he retired in 2006 and became an announcer for NFL Europa games. Ritchie is currently an ESPN contributor and makes regular appearances on such hit shows as SportsNation, ESPNews and First Take.
