About Josef Martinez
Josef Martínez is one of the top players in MLS. In 2017, Martinez joined the league with the expansion side, Atlanta United FC, and the rest was history. He set the MLS record for career hat-tricks after notching six in his first 44 games. In 2018, Martinez netted a league single-season record with 31 goals. That year he also tied the mark for most consecutive games with a goal at nine. Martinez won the MLS MVP award and led Atlanta United to the MLS Cup. He booted in another 27 goals in 2019. In 2023, Martinez signed with Inter Miami.
Martinez has also seen action for Venezuela's national team. He originally began his club career with Caracas. In 2012, he was acquired by Swiss Super League club Young Boys, before spending a year on loan at Thun. In 2014, he was sold to Italian club Torino.
