About J.R. Celski
J. R. Celski is a short track speed skater. Growing up, Celski was a champion-class inline skater and he switched to speed skating after watching the 2002 Winter Olympics. Celski missed the minimum age requirement for the 2006 Winter Olympics by 17 days. Celski made his breakthrough appearance at the 2009 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships where he won 5 medals. Celski participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics where he won the bronze in the 1500m and 5000m relay. In 2010, Celski appeared on the TV show The Biggest Loser where he introduced a pop-challenge to the contestants of the show. Celski competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics. He finished 4th in the men’s 1500m, 6th in the 500m, and 13th in the 1000m. He also earned a silver medal in the Short Track Men’s 5000m relay. On February 5, 2014, Celski was featured on the television show How to Raise an Olympian.
