About JR Reid
Isaiah Rider played eight seasons in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets from 1993 to 2001. Prior to making it big in the NBA he starred at Encinal High School in California and signed a scholarship to play at Allen County Community College in Iola, Kansas. During his time at Allen County he averaged over 30 points per game and then transferred to Antelope Valley College where he averaged 33 points per game. From 1991 to 1993 he starred at UNLV and led the Runnin’ Rebels to a Final Four appearances in his first year. He’d go on to earn consensus second team AllAmerican and Big West Conference Player of the Year honors in 1993. In the 1993 NBA Draft he was selected in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves. During his first season he earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors and captured the NBA Slam Dunk Championship. Rider was a member of the Lakers 2000-01 NBA Championship team and retired as a member of the Denver Nuggets having averaged 16.7 points per game during his career.
