About Julia Mancuso
Julia Mancuso made her World Cup skiing debut at age 15, and won a bronze medal in the 2001 Verbier Junior World Ski Championships. In 2002 she dominated at the Junior World Ski Championships in Tarvisio, winning gold medals in the downhill, giant slalom and combined events. She followed that up by winning gold in the Super-G in 2003 and the combined event in 2004. The following year she won two bronze medals at the Barmio World Championships in the Super-G and giant slalom, which set her up for a gold medal performance in the Giant slalom at the 2006 Turin Olympic games. After winning a silver medal in the combined event at the 2007 Are World Championships, she returned to Olympic action and won two silver medals in the Downhill and combined events at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. She’d go on to win a silver medal in the Super-G at the 2011 World Championships and a bronze medal in the 2013 World Championships before earning a bronze medal in the combined event at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. When she’s not training on the slopes she calls the island of Maui, Hawaii home.
