About Kalen DeBoer
Kalen DeBoer is the head football coach at the University of Alabama. DeBoer was hired to succeed Nick Saban with the Crimson Tide after leading Washington to the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. In two seasons at UW, he went 25-3, finishing in the top ten in the country each year.
Prior to heading the Huskies, DeBoer was the coach at Fresno State for two seasons, going 9-3 in year number two. He had worked with former Bulldogs head coach, Jeff Tedford, from 2017-18 as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He spent the 2019 season as the offensive coordinator at Indiana before returning to Fresno.
DeBoer has an impressive resume as a head coach at the NAIA level, winning three national championships at his alma mater, Sioux Falls. Overall, he went 67-3 while leading the Cougars and also won three NAIA Coach of the Year awards. After playing wide receiver at the school, he began his coaching career with that position group in 1997. DeBoer became the program's offensive coordinator in 2000 prior to being named head coach in 2005. After leaving Sioux Falls, he also spent time as an assistant at Southern Illinois and Eastern Michigan.
