Keith Moreland

Keith Moreland had a baseball career that spanned over a decade and he played a vital role on some of the better Chicago Cubs teams in recent history. Moreland was an outfielder on the Cubs team that won the 1984 NL East and had two other banner campaigns with the franchise. In 1985, he hit .307 with 14 home runs and 106 RBI, while blasting 27 long balls and 88 RBI in 1987. Moreland came up with the Philadelphia Phillies and also played for the San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, and Baltimore Orioles. The Dallas native is a Texas Longhorn legend and is a inductee of the Longhorn Hall of Honor. Moreland was a three-time All-American, helped UT to three College World Series berths, and had his #3 jersey is retired by the school. In 1975, he was a co-captain of the 56-6 national champions and hit .410. Moreland has the second-most hits in College World Series history. Following his playing career, Moreland served as an analyst on Texas baseball and football games. For two seasons, he was the Cubs’ radio analyst.
