About Kenny Payne
Kenny Payne is the associate head coach for the Arkansas men's basketball program. Payne brought tremendous experience to Fayetteville, as a previous head coach at his alma mater, Louisville.
Payne was a star player for the Cardinals in the 1980s, winning an NCAA Champion as a freshman. He was a first-round pick in the 1989 NBA Draft and went on to play with the Philadelphia 76ers for four years. Payne played professionally overseas for several years following his stint in Philly.
He got started in coaching as an assistant at Oregon, before moving over to Kentucky in 2010. From 2014-20, Payne was the Wildcats associate head coach. Prior to returning to UL, he spent two seasons as an assistant with the New York Knicks.
