About Kyle Phillips
Kyle Phillips is a former Major League Baseball catcher for the San Diego Padres. The Minnesota Twins drafted Phillips in 2002, during the tenth round. Philips’ career began by spending four seasons in the minors for the Twins before the Milwaukee Brewers signed him in April 2006. Shortly after being singed with the Brewers, he was released on March 24, 2007. Less than a week later, Phillips was signed with the Toronto Blue Jays as a Minor League free agent. Phillips spent the 2007 season in the minors with the Dunedin Blue Jays, and he spent the following season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. On September 14, 2009, Phillips made his Major League debut with the Blue Jays. In June 2010, Phillips was traded to the San Diego Padres. During his time with the Padres, he hit his first major league home run, in June 2011. Philips elected free agency in October 2011 and in 2012, he signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays, which was later voided because of injury.
