About Lou Ferrigno
Lou Ferrigno was born in Brooklyn, New York and rose to prominence as a bodybuilding star. After graduating from high school in 1969 he began training fulltime as a bodybuilder and went on to win the 1973 IFBB Mr. America and IFBB Mr. Universe titles. The following year he came in second at the Mr. Olympia competition and won his second consecutive Mr. America and Mr. Universe competitions. In 1975 he placed third at the Mr. Olympia competition and was featured in a documentary called Pumping Iron, which documented his attempt to defeat the defending Mr. Olympia, Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 1977 he competed in the World’s Strongest Man competition, and then began a successful acting career, earning the role as The Incredible Hulk in 1977 and going on to make appearances on several hit shows, including King of Queens. In 2009 he returned to the silver screen in the hit movie, I Love You Man.
