About Luka Modric
Luka Modrić stands as a legendary central midfielder and one of the most exceptional playmakers in soccer history. The Croatian War of Independence forced him to survive before he began his career at Dinamo Zagreb, then joined Tottenham Hotspur, before Real Madrid acquired him in 2012.
Modrić established himself as a key player at Madrid, where he won 28 major titles, including six UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga titles. The Ballon d’Or award in 2018 went to Modrić because he became the first player since 2008 to not receive the honor from Messi or Ronaldo. Through his exceptional vision, passing ability, and tactical understanding, he became an essential part of one of the most dominant midfields in soccer history.
Modrić served as captain of the Croatian national team while leading his country to the 2018 World Cup final and participating in five major international tournaments. He has played more than 120 international matches and has been selected to the FIFPro World XI multiple times.
Modrić resides in La Moraleja, Madrid, with his wife Vanja and their three children. Through his business activities, he engages in real estate ventures and club ownership. After spending 13 years at Real Madrid, he announced his intention to leave the club in 2025 to pursue new opportunities.
