About Maia Chaka
Maia Chaka has made history as the first black woman to become an NFL official. Chaka previously spent time as an official in the Pac-12 and Conference USA. During that experience, the NFL selected her for their Officiating Development Program. In addition to officiating, Chaka has been a health and physical education teacher in Virginia Beach, VA. She works with special needs students and even co-facilitated professional development for her school's faculty during the COVID-19 crisis to help them deal with online learning.
