About Malcolm Smith
Malcolm Smith is best known for playing the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks and becoming the unlikely MVP of Super Bowl XLVII. Smith intercepted a Peyton Manning pass, returned it for a touchdown, and also recovered a fumble in the game.The pick was his fourth in five games.Through the first 44 games of his career, Smith had not recorded an interception.No defensive player had won Super Bowl MVP since Dexter Jackson in 2003.He was originally drafted in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of USC. Smith was a two-time All-State pick at William Howard Taft High School. He is from Woodland Hills, California. His brother, Steve, was an NFL wide receiver and fellow Trojan. Smith has dietary restrictions placed on him due to achalasia, a rare esophagus disorder.
