About Manny Acta
Manny Acta is a former manager in Major League Baseball and a current broadcaster for ESPN and ESPN Deportes. He is most prominently featured on ESPN’s Baseball Tonight. Acta managed both the Washington Nationals and Cleveland Indians for three seasons. When he joined the Nationals in 2006, he was the youngest manager in baseball. Prior to managing, he was a third base coach for the Montreal Expos and New York Mets. After six year playing career in the minor leagues, Acta coached and managed in the minors for nine years. He also has international managing experiencing, piloting the Dominican Republic at the 2006 World Baseball Classic. For three seasons, Acta also took the reigns of Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Winter League. That team won the 2004 Caribbean Series. Acta is currently the franchise’s general manager. The ImpACTA Kids Foundation funds college scholarships and built a youth complex in the Dominican Republic.
