Mark Bavaro

Mark Bavaro, standing 6’4”, is a former professional football player who represented number eighty-nine as a tight end in the National Football League for nine years. Born in 1963 in Winthrop, Massachusetts, Bavaro was a high school football All-American as well as a track-and-field star at his Massachusetts high school. Having been recruited by several colleges with many options open, Bavaro chose to attend the University of Notre Dame to carry out his four college football seasons. After developing a reputation for playing humbly through serious injuries, Bavaro’s college coach even stated, "He plays with pain better than any player I've seen in my 37 years of coaching". In 1985, Bavaro was selected in the NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Spendingh is first five seasons with the Giants, one with the Cleveland Browns, and his last two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Bavaro earned a number of notable accomplishments. Some of these professional accomplishments include a two time Super Bowl champion, a two time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection, and a member of the New York Giants Ring of Honor. Retiring in 1994, Bavaro left his mark on the football field with a total of 351 receptions, 4,733 receiving yards, and 39 touchdowns in the National Football League.
