About Michael Conforto
Michael Conforto is an outfielder for the Chicago Cubs. He first broke onto the baseball scene at Oregon State University. As a freshman, he set a Beavers single-season record with 76 RBI. Conforto was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and the Freshman Hitter of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Conforto was named Pac-12 Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior. As a sophomore, he helped lead OSU to the College World Series.
The New York Mets Mets made him the tenth overall pick of the 2014 MLB Draft. He was named to the All-Star Futures Game roster in 2015 and made his major league debut later that summer. Conforto made the Mets postseason roster and hit two home runs in the World Series.
He became the everyday left fielder in New York in 2016. After Conforto hit .285 over the first half in 2017, he was named an All-Star. Conforto's baseball success is no surprise when you hear he comes from an athletic family. His mother, Tracie, is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and his father, Mike, played linebacker at Penn State.
