About Mike Krzyzewski
Retired Duke head basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski's resume speaks for itself. Not only is he a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, he is a 12-time NCAA National Coach of the Year and owns the NCAA Division I record for most wins. Oh, and by the way, he also led his Duke teams to five NCAA National Championships and Team USA Basketball to four Olympic Gold Medals. Coach K is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, and served as the team captain during his senior year in 1969. After earning his degree he served honorably in the United States Army from 1969 to 1974 before beginning his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Indiana in 1974. After one year at Indiana, he served as the head coach at Army from 1975 to 1980 and then signed on as the head coach at Duke, where he coached the rest of his career. He is widely considered to be one of the best coaches of all time at any level in any sport.
