About Mike Price
Mike Price earned a reputation as one of the greatest football minds in college football history during his 40-year college coaching career. Price grew up in Everett, Washington and played his college ball at Everett Junior College, Washington State and Puget Sound. After earning his degree he took a graduate assistant job at Washington State in 1969 and then returned to Puget Sound as the offensive coordinator from 1971 to 1973. In 1974 he returned to Washington State as the running backs coach for three years and then headed to Missouri from 1978 to 1980. After the 1980 season he was hired as the head coach at Weber State and went on to lead his team to 46 wins in eight seasons. In 1989 he signed on as the head coach at Washington State and led the Cougars to 83 wins and five bowl games in 13 seasons. In 2003 he led Washington State to their second Pac-10 Conference championship before being hired as the head coach at UTEP in 2004. From 2004 to 2012 he led the Miners to 48 wins and three Bowl Games. Coach Price was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year twice in 1997 and 2001 and also earned Sporting News College Football Coach of the Year honors in 1997.
