About Mike Redmond
Mike Redmond is back with the organization that gave him a chance to be a big league player as manager of the Miami Marlins. Redmond has steadily improved the team as they look to build a consistent contender for the first time in franchise history. He got his coaching start as a manager in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. The Lansing Lugnuts recorded their best record in team history under his watch in 2011. Redmond was an afterthought coming out of Gonzaga, but parlayed hard work into a 13-year MLB playing career. He got his shot to debut with the Marlins in 1998 after they had done a fire sale with many of their players. Redmond was the backup catcher to Ivan Rodriguez when the Marlins won the 2003 World Series. Redmond also spent a lengthy run as the backup for the Minnesota Twins.
